Chapter 6

The Billionaire's Forsaken Wife

Chapter 6: The Silent Exit

The morning sun filtered through the sheer curtains of the empty villa, illuminating the dust motes dancing in the air.

Sharon stood in the hallway, holding two modest travel bags. Her luxury luggage, designer coats, and expensive jewelry remained untouched in the master closet—she wanted nothing that had been bought with Andrew’s money.

She walked into the dining room one last time.

The divorce agreement sat prominently on the mahogany table, weighted down by her simple silver wedding ring placed precisely in the center of the signature line.

She pulled out her phone, unlocked it, and pulled up Andrew’s contact.

With a few taps on the screen, she deleted his number, blocked his social media profiles, and removed her location-sharing permissions. She then withdrew the SIM card from her phone, snapped it cleanly in half, and dropped it into the trash bin by the door.

A sleek black Mercedes van pulled up to the driveway outside. Two discreet guards in sharp dark suits stepped out, opening the back door for her.

"Miss Vance," the driver said respectfully, taking her bags. "Your mother has cleared the private hangar. The flight to London departs in forty-five minutes."

"Thank you, Thomas," Sharon said smoothly.

She took one final look at the house where she had spent three years hoping for a man's heart, feeling neither sorrow nor regret—only an overwhelming sense of profound relief. She stepped into the car, and the heavy doors slid shut with a soft click.

At the same time, across town in the luxury apartment complex, Andrew woke up on the velvet sofa in Rebecca’s living room.

He rubbed his aching forehead, looking at his watch. It was already 10:00 AM. Yesterday, the baby’s "fever" had turned out to be nothing more than a mild warm flush from being wrapped in too many blankets, but Rebecca had cried so hysterically that Andrew had stayed the night to comfort her and manage the baby's feeding schedule.

He sat up, feeling a sudden pang of guilt.

Sharon’s cold, detached expression from yesterday afternoon flashed in his mind. He remembered how she had asked him to go to her checkup, and how he had brushed her off.

"She's probably still throwing a quiet fit," Andrew muttered to himself, grabbing his coat. "I'll pick up some of those soft pastries she likes on the way home. That usually clears the air."

Rebecca walked out of the bedroom wrapped in a plush robe, holding a cup of hot coffee. "Andrew? You're leaving already? I thought you could help me take the baby to her morning bath."

"I have to check on Sharon," Andrew said, putting on his watch. "She was upset yesterday about missing her appointment."

Rebecca pouted slightly, stepping closer to touch his arm. "She's still jealous? Honestly, Andrew, you're too good to her. If I had a husband who cared as much about honor as you do, I'd be worshipping the ground he walked on."

Andrew forced a weak smile, feeling strangely uneasy. "I'll call you later, Rebecca."

He drove back to the villa, stopping at a high-end bakery to purchase a box of Sharon's favorite almond tarts. As he pulled into the driveway, he noticed the house looked unusually dark and quiet.

"Sharon?" Andrew called out as he unlocked the front door, stepping into the foyer.

Silence answered him.

"Sharon, look, I brought those pastries from the downtown bakery," he said, walking into the kitchen. "I know you were annoyed yesterday, but Rebecca’s baby was really—"

His voice trailed off as he walked into the dining room.

The house was completely pristine. The air smelled faintly of lavender cleaner.

And sitting right in the center of the massive mahogany table was a neat black folder.

Andrew frowned, putting the bakery box down. He stepped closer and picked up the folder. Resting on top of the smooth paper was Sharon’s wedding ring—the simple silver band he had given her seven years ago.

Below it, in bold black ink, read the title:

UNILATERAL DIVORCE SETTLEMENT AGREEMENT AND ABSOLUTE SURRENDER OF PARENTAL RIGHTS

Andrew’s heart dropped into his stomach.

Chapter 7: The Discovery

Andrew’s hands trembled slightly as he flipped open the heavy folder.

The terms were brutal in their simplicity. Sharon was surrendering all rights to any shared real estate, spousal support, or marital assets. In exchange, she demanded immediate, irrevocable dissolution o

Six months passed.

The once-vibrant Vance residence was now quiet and neglected. Andrew sat at his mahogany dining room desk, surrounded by empty whiskey bottles and towering stacks of investigator reports.

He had spent millions of dollars hiring private detective agencie
